I was born and raised in a Christian home.

At a very young age, I knew I was lost and needed a Savior. My mother was a strong Christian testimony in our home and community in Savage, Montana. She raised us by Biblical principles and practiced what she preached. I remember thinking, "If Jesus comes, I'll hang on to MaMa, because I know she's going into the rapture."
It was at Daily Vacation Bible School in an old country school-house, when I was eight years old, that I accepted the Lord as my Savior. In those days, Bible School was an all-day school lasting two weeks. We had two recess periods and one lunch hour to be on the playgrounds. My sister, Harriett, who was a year older, were best buds. Although she was a year older than I, We were always together playing on the slides or in the sandbox. She was a leader. I was a follower.
Harriett was not a naughty, mean girl. She just liked fun. She was tricky, always playing jokes. Wherever trouble was, there Harrett was. Many times while we would be playing in the sandbox the junior girls would witness to Harriett. Every recess they would come and talk to her, and ask her if she wanted to get saved. Nobody would ask me. The more they talked, the more conviction I felt, but I was shy and afraid to tell them I wanted to be saved. I would silently say, "Ask me - I want to be saved!" Day after day the girls would come and give Harriett the plan of salvation, but never said anything to me.
I started wishing they wouldn't come as their conversations always made me silently cry, "Ask me - Ask me - I want to be saved!" Finally, towards the end of Bible school, Harriett said, "Yes, I want to be saved!" She jumped up from the sandbox. The girls grabbed her arms, and off they went to the school to tell the teacher that Harriett wanted to get saved. I watched them as they walked off. They opened the door and disappeared inside.

I felt so alone. In my mind, I heard a voice say, "Go now, or you'll never be saved!" I got up, ran to the schoolhouse, opened the door, and ran upstairs to where I knew I'd find our teacher and Harriett. I knelt beside them. I remember the teacher put her arm around me and asked if I wanted to get saved! I said "YES!!!" I remember telling MaMa I got saved when we got home that day. The next day, Harriett and I witnessed to a friend, Flossy Smith. We saw her sitting on the wood pile, we told her what we did, and gave her the plan of salvation. We led her to the Lord. A few weeks later both Harriett and I were baptized in Burns Creek, a city just south of Savage.
I wasn't a real strong Christian during my teen years. It broke my mother's heart when I was 19 and married Don who was not a Christian. Our MaMa was a woman of prayer. She prayed daily for all of her kids and their families. Don was saved four years after we were married. All of our children were saved at an early age. The Lord is still answering MaMa's prayers today! I thank God for godly parents who prayed fervently with a desire to instill God's Word in our hearts!

God is good! Throughout all these years He has been my refuge, my strength, my very present help (Plasm 46:1). What a privilege it is to be a child of God, to know He loves me unconditionally, perfectly, completely! Thank You Jesus for ALL You've done! Thank You Jesus for victories won!
